How we collect, use, and look after your information

Who we are

This policy is for Prosper Financial Limited (FSP1007548), trading as Prosper. We are a Financial Advice Provider licensed by the Financial Markets Authority. Our physical address is 16 Meredith Street, Addington, Christchurch, New Zealand. You can reach us at jp@letsprosper.nz or on 027 341 2869.

We collect, store, and use personal information in line with the Privacy Act 2020 and the Code of Professional Conduct for Financial Advice Services.

Information we collect

We only collect what we need to give KiwiSaver advice, run this website, and meet our legal duties. That can include:

Name, email address, phone number, and other contact details
KiwiSaver details such as provider, fund type, balance, contributions, and goals
Information about your circumstances, risk tolerance, and first-home withdrawal plans
Identity and compliance information where the law requires it
Notes from calls, emails, forms, and meetings
Technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and cookie identifiers

We collect this from you when you use the site, complete a form, book a time, or speak with us. We may also receive information from your KiwiSaver provider, other parties you authorise, identity-verification services, and publicly available sources, where that is needed to advise you or to meet the law.

How we use it

We use personal information to:

Respond to enquiries and run a complimentary KiwiSaver review
Give, record, and follow up financial advice
Book and manage appointments
Meet obligations under the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013 and the Anti-Money Laundering and Countering Financing of Terrorism Act 2009
Improve the website and our service
Handle complaints and regulatory requests

We do not sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We may share information with:

KiwiSaver and managed-fund providers, when you ask us to implement advice
Service providers who help us operate, including website hosting, email delivery, and appointment booking (including Calendly)
Our compliance support, dispute-resolution scheme, and regulators such as the Financial Markets Authority, when the law requires it

Anyone we share information with is expected to protect it under the Privacy Act 2020.

Cookies and analytics

The website may use cookies and similar tools to keep pages working, remember preferences, and understand how the site is used. If Google Analytics or Google Search Console is connected, those services may collect usage data on our behalf. You can control cookies in your browser. Turning them off may affect how some parts of the site work.

Storage, security, and retention

We take reasonable steps to keep personal information safe, including access controls and storing records in secure electronic systems. Financial-advice records are generally kept for at least seven years after our relationship with you ends, or longer if the law requires it. We then securely destroy or de-identify the information.

Your rights

You can ask us for access to the personal information we hold about you, and you can ask us to correct it. To do that, email jp@letsprosper.nz.
